The Gaffey Street Community Garden in San Pedro was founded more than 40 years ago on a 6-acre site owned by the Los Angeles City Bureau of Sanitation, one mile west of the port of San Pedro and alongside the 110 freeway.  There are more than 200 families working 15’ x 15’ plots to grow healthy food in the garden.
